A BETTER WAY TO HOLD ON

Your keys belong
to you.

When crypto stays on an exchange, someone else may control the keys. A Trezor hardware wallet changes that. It stores your private keys offline, away from the everyday risks of online accounts, while Trezor Suite gives you a clear place to manage supported assets.

You stay in charge of approving transactions. Review the details on the trusted screen of your Trezor before you confirm—so what you see on your device is what you sign. This is self-custody: more independence, paired with the responsibility to protect your backup.

YOUR SETUP, MADE SIMPLE

Five steps to
peace of mind.

Take your time with each step. Your device will guide you along the way.

01

Get Trezor Suite

Download Trezor Suite only from trezor.io/start. Choose the desktop app for Windows, macOS, or Linux, or continue with Trezor Suite web in a supported browser. Check the address carefully before you download.

↗
02

Connect your device

Use the USB cable that came with your Trezor to connect it directly to your computer. Open Suite and follow the prompts to install the latest firmware. Your device may arrive without firmware; that is normal.

↗
03

Create your wallet

Choose to create a new wallet and confirm the setup on your Trezor itself. Your device will generate a recovery wallet backup. Write every word down, in order, on the supplied backup card and check it carefully.

↗
04

Protect your recovery backup

Your recovery words are the master key to your crypto. Keep them offline, private, and somewhere secure. Never photograph or type them into a phone, computer, website, or message. Trezor Support will never ask for them.

↗
05

Set a PIN and get started

Create a PIN directly on your device to prevent someone else from using it. Once your wallet is ready, Suite will guide you through receiving your first assets. Always verify addresses on your Trezor screen before confirming.

↗
Download Trezor Suite ↗

Always download Suite from the official Trezor website.

✳
YOUR RECOVERY WORDS ARE EVERYTHING

Keep your backup
off the internet.

Your recovery words can restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged. Anyone who gets those words can access your funds. Store your backup somewhere private and secure, separate from your Trezor. Never share it—not with a friend, a support agent, or anyone claiming to help. Trezor cannot recover your words for you.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.
Better answers.

Why does my new device need firmware?

Trezor devices ship without firmware as a security measure. Installing it through the official Trezor Suite is a normal part of setup.

Can I set up without writing down my recovery words?

Your backup is essential to restoring access if your device is unavailable. Follow the on-device backup process and store the words securely offline.

What if I need help later?

Visit the official Trezor Support and Learning pages for device-specific guides. Never follow unsolicited messages or share your recovery words with anyone.
